Howdy Minnesota
My name is Eleese Madgett-Manrique and I will be riding my horse Chips “N” Salsa (I call him Chip) all over the state of Minnesota to raise money for my organization called oneGirloneRide.
oneGirloneRide wants to raise money so it can buy land and build a ranch resort in Minnesota where any military personnel and their families can go to vacation for free.
Chip and I are leaving on June 7th 2008 at noon from the Buffalo Rodeo Fairgrounds in Buffalo, Minnesota. We will be riding for 86 days in a row!
Come and watch the pleasure show then see us leave.
oneGirloneRide will accept donations at the show or you can make a donation at any Wells Fargo Bank to the oneGirloneRide account.
I can’t wait to see you there but come back ya hear!
Much love and support to you on your journey that is going to change so many people lives!

I saw you on Fox9 News. I am from Wisconsin so I wondered what is your route? Where will you be? Do you have a route or a plan? I am a teacher and am busy when I get a break for the summer so I willnot be able to come to your “kickoff” event, but it would be fun to see you riding somewhere. You have a lofty goal, but not impossible! Best wishes and blessings to you. msortedahl
The Richfieldblogger is excited about your ride, E’lessa, and has made a blog post to richfieldblogger.wordpress.com

E’Leese and Kerry,
I just wanted to leave you a short message. Thank you so much for asking the Blue Star Mother’s to be a small part of your ride. We are so honored. E’Leese, now that you are a honorary Blue Star Mom, we expect you to come home, do laundry, dishes, and worry about your child in the military. No, not really. We DO expect you to enjoy yourself, ride safely, take care of your Mom and just all around have a good time. E’Leese, I … as a mom with a son in the Marine Corps are so proud of you. You have no idea how your goodness and generosity has touched my heart and the hearts of others. You could be spending your summer playing and having a good time. But here you are riding Chips throughout Minnesota collecting money for people you don’t even know and putting it towards a project that will help so many others. I don’t know if you realize today, the extent of your thoughtfullness. You are ONE in a million, and I am very proud to know you. Take care sweetheart and your Mom has my number if you need ANYTHING. Lots of Love … Teri – Proud Blue Star Mom
Eleese,
Wow….I am truly awestruck at your courage and commitment with this huge undertaking! I wish school was in session, as I would have my 5th graders follow your ride. I am going to pass along your website to those that I email and we will definitely be making a donation to a Wells Fargo branch in the near future! God bless you and may He watch over every step that Chips takes (and every mile your mom drives)!
Smiles & blessings,
Sheryl

Hello Eleese!
i dont know if you remember us (i’m sure you do) but we are the people you bought chip from!!! we are so excited and proud of you and your project! its wonderful to see chip being part of great cause and serving our country. he certainly looks happy and healthy! sophia has gotten out of riding, but angelina was wondering if you would be up to having her join you at some point for support? she has been smitten by a bay thoroughbred mare named addie-who LOVES to jump! you will be hearing more from us along the way, as we will be following your progress, sending you prayers and support along the way.
i’m so glad chip went to a truely remarkable girl!

E’leese,
I just received an email from a dear friend (see comment #6) telling me I had to go check out this amazing young lady and her website. I am so glad that I did! You my dear are an Amazing young Lady! I am also a Blue Star Marine Mom. I now live in Dallas Texas and am going to share your webpage with every Marine Mom I know here in Texas and I am sure they will pass it along to everyone they know.
I personally cannot THANK YOU enough for stepping up and sacrificing your summer for our Military Men and Women. All three of my boys have grown up in Minnesota. One obviously is a Marine. The other two are not far behind him, in their quest to server their country. We will be making a donation to “The Ranch” and will encourage every business owner we know to do the same.
Best wish for a safe and successful journey!

E’leese and Chip,
I’m a Marine Mom, and friend of Mary in reply #17. I had to go and see what this was all about. You are doing something wonderful, and I will be cheering you and Chip on from the Lone Star State and checking up on your journey. I am also the daughter of a soldier, a Vietnam Veteran, in the US Army. I know that this will be an adventure for you, and I hope that you are greeted warmly by Americans all across the state of Minnesota. Your compassion and caring will help you and Chip on this spectacular ride, and I know that many hearts and prayers will be with you, my own included. Godspeed to you and Chip and I wish you every success in your amazing endeavors to support our troops. Knowing that a young lady like yourself cares so much, gives me hope. My son, a US Marine, is currently serving in Iraq, and I will share your story with him. Our military needs to hear that America supports them and I know it will warm their hearts to hear about oneGirloneRide.
Kindest regards and safe journeys,
Macia
