Wadena County Mounted Patrol Clinic April 20, 2009

Hi everyone! We spent Friday and Saturday at the Wadena County Mounted Patrol Clinic. Hi Sheriff Carr. Thank you for all of your nice words and encouragement. Fran Kueker ran the training and did a great job. For everyone who does not know what the training is, here is an idea. Drive to Wadena from Carlton county, Todd county, Carver county, Dakota county, Wadena county, Crow Wing county, (help me remember all of the counties please) trailering your horse or horses. When you get to the Wadena Fair Grounds, un load your horse and all your gear. Go to meetings and then practice, practice, practice. Learn how to catch a fleeing felon, hand cuff, traverse difficult obstacles, ride your horse through smoke by fire, an overturned car, past or move yelling people, get bottles thrown at you and your horse, bull horn yelling, gunfire, and more. Then ride your horse in competitions and parade formation and drill team movements.

I had such a good time. I got to see so many friends from my ride last year. Fran let me ride her horse Walkman as the Grand Marshall of the parade event.

Now let me tell you that all of the people that participated in the training paid for their own Gas, participation Fee, and all of the other expenses that you have when you travel. So when you see a Posse or Mounted Patrol you need to know that they pay from their own pocket to train to save you, protect you, and find you. Call your county and find out if they have a Posse or Mounted Patrol and thank them and if you can donate to them or participate in any fundraiser they put on. They are just real people doing good.

Ramsey County Sheriff Fletcher Visit 4/3/09 April 3, 2009

Hi everyone at the Sheriff’s office! I had such a great time. Sheriff Bob Fletcher is such a nice man. He took the time to show us all around the beautiful new building they have. When people like the Sheriff work hard and have to deal with bad guys all day long they should have nice surroundings to be in. The Sheriff let me go into the firing range and showed me how the bullets are caught in the shredded up tires. OK, I went into the coolest room. It looks just like the NCIS (TV) show. It is the 911 area. They have TVs all over and the room is dark with glowing computer screens. Everything is set up to see the monitors and the TVs. The Police, Fire Department, Sheriff calls all go through there. The jail is there and I saw a holding cell, They took me on a police car ride. Sheriff Fletcher presented me with a book about the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office ( the funniest page is 141, Synchronized booking) and a beautiful lt. blue zip up sweatshirt with a Sheriff’s patch on it and my name and onegirloneride stitched on it fromĀ  Linda Schwartzbaur of Corporate Mark Inc., Thank you for the presents and for the donations.

Now for some of the people that made my day so great. If I forget your name please blog me. We did not get a card from everyone.

The floods that are still receding from the Red river were terrible and many people were in danger for their lives and property. Our Ramsey County Sheriff’s office had many volunteers help the people of the area. Mom and I are not surprised that they went to help. That is what Minnesota does.

Say Hi! and smile to a person in law enforcement. Next time you see them they may be saving your life, finding your lost child, or putting their lights on to protect you while you change a tire. Thank you for my wonderful day with Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department.

Mom and I are headed out to the horses to trim up their legs with the clipper. Keep you fingers crossed. If you have ever seen Lucky after mom trims him. It’s sad.
